How to Be more Productive!

The word above is most likely not something that you can describe yourself as having. I certainly don't, usually, have a productive mind-set. However, there are several things you can do to make it easier to do the things you need to do, and the things that you really want to do but often don't get to because you waste too much time!

1. Make lists of what you need to do. I cannot stress this enough! If you don't know what you have to do, how can you expect to get it done easily? Exactly, you can't! So, make a list, and check everything that you get done off of the list. This can motivate you, and show you your progress so you feel good about yourself. Also, rank your to-do list, so that you do the most urgent and important things first, and the things that can wait, last.

2. Get enough sleep. If you are tired, you will not feel like doing anything. So go to sleep early, get up early, and you will have more time and energy to complete your goals! How great is that?

3. Stay organized. Keep everything that you need in its right place, and so that you can access it when you need the thing/ notes/ etc. for the task at hand.

4. Set a specific thing you want to get done within a goal. Let's say that you want to write a book report for school. Instead of just saying "Write the report" you can say, "Write and edit one page of the report." That way, the goals seem easier to accomplish, therefore it is easier to motivate yourself to do it.

5. Take breaks. Take breaks every once in a while between tasks, so that your mind can take a break so you have a fresh mind when you start a new task. Otherwise, you will exhaust yourself and if you have a lot of things to do, you make not get everything done.

6. Set deadlines that are shorter than how long you think you will take. By doing this, you will work faster and in a more focused way. If you think writing your book report will take 2 hours, give yourself an hour and a half.

7. Exercise. As weird as it may seem, exercise gets you moving, it reduces stress, and it makes it easier to complete goals.

And now, the strangest one of all...

8. Surround your work place with yellow. Yellow makes you more awake, giving you more energy to complete tasks. Better get some yellow flowers, decor, notebooks, computer cases, water bottles, etc.! I might get some fake yellow flowers...Hmm. :)

Hope that will help you! Now, get off my blog and do your work!
